This maze of streets next to the railway tracks between Ueno & Okachimachi stations comprises two markets: the covered Ueno Centre Mall and open-air Ameyoko itself. The mall sells an array of souvenirs and clothes, while the 500 stalls of jam-packed Ameyoko - one of Tokyo’s greatest street markets - specialise in fresh food, especially fish. Also, this market area is very good access to the Ueno Park and Zoo area where has wondrful natures in the one of largest city Tokyo.

マーケットは大きく２つのエリアに分かれておりますが、フードや衣類品、ビンテージ品、アジア特有のギッシリした雰囲気を感じることができます。アメ横以外の立ち寄り地の中には、上野公園や、噴水を中心にしたボートの発着場のある大きな池などがあり、自然豊かでたくさんの生き物にも出会えます。散歩をしながら楽しい会話と立ち寄った店でフードやドリンクも買えます。そして、フォトジェニックなスポットで写真を撮りましょう📷

④Ueno Tohshogu Shrine上野東照宮

Ueno Toshogu Shrine was built in 1627 and is a shrine enshrined in Ueno Park.

Toshogu is a shrine that enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu (Tosho Daigongen) as a god.

It is also located in Nikko and Kunoyama, and is equal to Nikko Toshogu for the people of Edo who cannot visit far to Nikko.

It is said that a luxurious shrine (golden hall) was built, and the building is designated as a national important cultural property as an early Edo period architecture.

⑤Ueno Daibutsu / Pagoda style prayer tower　上野大仏・パゴダ様式の祈願塔

Ueno Daibutsu was once a Buddha statue in Ueno Onshi Park, and was a statue of Shaka Nyorai with a height of about 6m. However, it was damaged by repeated disasters such as the Great Kanto Earthquake

上野大仏は、かつて上野恩賜公園にあった大仏で、高さ約6mの釈迦如来像であった。しかし、関東大震災など度重なる罹災により損壊し、胴体も戦争中の金属供出で失われた。

Benzaiten is enshrined in Benzaiten and is known as the guardian deity of music and performing arts.
